          Gareth Kuhl is a founding partner of Kuhl & Grant LLP. His practice focuses on real estate and federal income taxation. Gareth’s primary practice concentrations are affordable housing and economic development utilizing tax incentives (including the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit and New Markets Tax Credit) as well as other development and operating subsidies and financing methods. Gareth represents for profit and nonprofit developers and owners, public housing authorities, municipalities, property managers, contractors, lenders and investors at the state, regional and national level. He frequently speaks at conferences, seminars and presentations on matters affecting affordable housing and economic development, and has served on numerous committees, task forces and discussion groups addressing such matters.

          Gareth currently serves on the board of directors and the finance committee of Metropolitan Indianapolis Public Broadcasting, Inc. (WFYI) and is the Chairman of the board of directors of The John H. Boner Community Center, Inc.

           Born in Niles, Michigan, Gareth attended the University of Michigan School of Business Administration where he received a B.B.A. in 1991, graduating with high distinction, with concentrations in finance and accounting. Gareth earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School in 1994, graduating cum laude. Prior to forming Kuhl & Grant LLP in 2010, Gareth was a partner at Ice Miller LLP where he practiced for over 15 years. Gareth is admitted to practice law in the states of Indiana and Michigan.

          Mark Grant is a founding partner of Kuhl & Grant LLP. Mark’s practice concentration is in real estate law, focusing on development, purchases and sales, financing, leasing, construction, affordable housing and green/sustainable development. He represents residential and commercial developers, owners and tenants (whether private, governmental or non-profit) in all aspects of real estate development and financing. He also represents governmental, non-profit and for-profit entities in connection with affordable housing transactions and all parties in connection with construction-related activities and green/sustainable development.

          Mark speaks regularly on various real estate, construction, affordable housing and green topics. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, American Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association. Mark currently serves as a board member of the Near North Development Corporation where he serves as the chair of the fundraising committee, is a board member for the Local Initiative Support Corporation where he serves as chair of the comprehensive investment committee and is a member of the executive committee of the Urban Land Institute where he serves as the co-chair of the sponsorship committee.

            Mark is a native of Carmel, Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering at Purdue University in 1981. He graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in 1984. Before founding Kuhl & Grant LLP in 2010, Mark was a partner with Ice Miller LLP where he practiced real estate law since 1990. Mark also previously practiced real estate law in Houston, Texas. Mark is admitted to practice law in the states of Indiana and Illinois.

Matthew G. Nolley is an associate at Kuhl & Grant LLP, where he concentrates his practice on real estate transactions, business transactions, and entrepreneurial services.

Matt's practice involves the representation of real estate developers, nonprofit organizations, and governmental entities in the acquisition, leasing and disposition of real estate. Matt's practice also includes the representation of small business owners in the establishment and operations of their business ventures.  He is also a certified public mediator.

In addition to his practice, he is active at all levels of track and field and in media production. Matt is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.  Matt also serves as the treasurer of the board of directors of the Riley Area Development Corporation in Indianapolis.  Additionally, Matt is involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.


Matt is originally from Shelbyville, IN. He completed his undergraduate education at Purdue University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in organizational leadership in 2003. He earned his juris doctorate from Indiana University – Indianapolis in 2009. Matt also received his MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2009.

          Tracy Damone is the Firm Administrator for Kuhl & Grant LLP. Tracy is responsible for the day to day management and administrative functions of the firm.  She comes to Kuhl & Grant from Ice Miller LLP where she was an executive legal assistant in the Tax Department. Tracy brings many years of office and administrative experience having worked in various office management settings throughout her career. In addition, she brings a banking background to the firm having worked in several different capacities in the financial services industry.

          Tracy is from Northern Virginia relocating to Indiana in 2006. She currently resides in Brownsburg, Indiana with her husband and two teenage daughters.
